In my never ending quest to drive a truck that is totally different than anyone else out there I have taken it upon myself to come up with a set of LED taillights for Ford's latest design of taillight for their F-Series trucks. Just to keep you updated, I'm currently working with two designs. The first design is simple, with the entire area lit up with uniform intensity. The second design is more complicated. There will be a 2-led wide strip all the way around the light area and two horizontal strips dividing the remaining area into three sections. My plan is to have the border come on full intensity with the running lights along with the low intensity for the rest of the light area. When the brakes are applied then the three areas light up fully, presenting the entire light at full intensity. The only thing I do not know yet is if I'm going to have the entire light lit up with no running lights and brakes applied or just the three sections light up. Once I get a prototype made I will get pics up so you can see what I'm talking about.
